BONUS PICKS - WEEK THREE

Time to make the last bonus picks before we get to the FINAL 12. Once again, you have four picks worth 8, 6, 4 and 2 points that you can assign to any contestant.

Now, some thoughts from this week's performances ...

Paula is back on the sauce. While Randy was talking to Kristy Lee Cook, Paula and Simon were basically making out. What a weird night.

I thought Amanda was great. It also seemed like she doesn't get along with any of the other people there. Not a big surprise. I can't see her playing Yahtzee with Asia'h, Kady and Danny.

I thought Michael Johns, David Cook and Archie did great versions of their songs. David Hermandance did a good job singing his song, but the difference between him and those other guys is that someone might actually want to buy a copy of the other guys' versions. Hernandez just turned in a really good karaoke performance.

Speaking of the guys, Castro did pretty well but I didn't think it was THAT great. So you guys might think I was wrong in my prediction, but if you read carefully you will see that I predicted that one of three things would happen, one of which was Paula saying something nonsensical. That is always a solid bet.

Carly did just what she has done the past weeks. She sang a song that proved that she could sing high powerful notes. Her performances are like demo tapes to become a demo singer. She just showcases her technical skills and leaves nothing to connect personally to. Also, in a recent A.I. Q&A Carly said that her favorite moment from last year was when Sanjaya got voted off. Expect some retaliation from the Fanjaya's in the coming weeks.

I think Syesha was lucky that they ran out of time last night. First of all - she sang a Whitney song. Simon hates it when people sing Whitney songs. But even worse than choosing that song was the way she sang it. She is very close to sounding really good - but not close enough. She is consistently off pitch while the tone of her voice and her look make you think that she should be awesome.

When Kristy started singing last night it sounded really good. Then she came to the big notes and we realized that she just doesn't have it in her. The judges liked it, but it was far from a Carrie Underwood performance.

Brooke was wearing a hugenormous ring. I am not a big fan of big jewelry. She always has those huge earrings on too. That is very telling of her personality.

I think the same person who decided it was cool for guys to wear those super tight girl jeans has decided that the new fashion statement is high-waisted pants for girls. Nothing is more attractive to me than the pants my grandma wears. When Asia'h first started walking down the stairs I think I might have vomited a little in my mouth. Then every other girl was wearing those pants too. The only thing that would make it worse would be shirts with huge shoulder pads.

the fact that our votes are similar to Seacrest's only makes me feel a LITTLE better! ANY of the girls could go.........

8- Luke (what a horrible song choice, performance, etc. Gack.)
6- Kady (Not as bad, or as snippy, as last week--but bad enough)
4- David Hern. (think The Rhythm Is Gonna Get Him) (though, I'd love to be wrong/be rewarded next week with his doubtless enchanting version of Thong Song)
2- a toss-up between Chikezie, Danny, and Kristy Lee. Based on my extensive research and the advice of my spiritualist, Chikezie, pack your bags, and leave me 2 points on your way out.

Other Thoughts:
Amanda = BTE award (but she looked pissed/detached after she sang--does she wanna be there anymore?) Runner-up: Brooke
Carly = consistently overrated and boring (as I've been saying from the start). I really wonder if the judges are hearing what we hear at home, 'cause they seem to be talking about some other singer.
Ramiele = getting more boring by the week. Might wanna get a head start on packing.
Pants = What is up with those pants? Yikes.
Simon Says = right that any of the girls could go (though I think Brooke's safe--nice performance). [And, maybe you could mash up an Ambien in Mr. SS's dessert--make the Paula damage a little more bearable.]

Check it!

Amanda was much better but she seems so ill-fitted for American Idol. Surely they've learned from Taylor Hicks. I agree that I don't think she really even wants to be there anymore. LOVED Brooke's version of LIAB and thought it was the best she has sounded. Can't even remember Michael Johns.

8-Luke (awful)
6-Kady (bleh)

Those two are obvious.

4-Kristy Cook
2-David Hernandez

For the record, you are way off on Brooke and Carly, those girls are awesome. I could watch Brooke sing all night (no, not just cause she's pretty. I just think she's really interesting to watch.)

AAARRRGGGHHH! That's the last time I fall for the "vote for the worst" campaign. They swore Danny was this year's Sanjaya!!

At least we finally got rid of Kady and Luke!!

Way to go, Zebra Fight, you got 'em all!!
