Some thoughts from last night:Paula totally gave Archie the easy ride with the Billy Joel song. I was reminded what a great song that was.
Randy totally gave Syesha the easy ride with that Alicia Keys song. One problem - she couldn't really hit notes in the chorus and it didn't sound half as good as Alicia's version. I was reminded of how much I like that song.
Simon was trying to give David C a challenge but if the song has a long verse that starts out low and then goes into a chorus that at ends on a long high note - that is right up Cookie's alley.
I was reminded that David Cook still sounds like poop in a blender when he sings those low notes.
I like Switchfoot's version MUCH better.
Paula actually made sense for most of the night.
"Boo"? Really?
"My personal song choice is Fever?" What?
I was afraid that Syesha was about to jump Rickey Minor when he was playing that upright bass.
Were all of Cook's songs 30 seconds long? I am not saying that I wanted more - just saying they seemed very incomplete.
Simon dissed a Dan Fogelberg song. It wasn't Archie's choice.
Aerosmith was much better. Come to think of it - David Cook was outdone by all of the original versions.
I am not sure how to feel about Dianne Warren.

Weird night, yet again. Loved Cook's version of the Roberta song; Dare You To Move was a beating--but a smart choice. Gotta get those Christian kids and their moms to vote for you.
Fever and Fogelberg = weird choices.
Archie needs some dance lessons from Miss Paula, needs to loosen up A Lot in general. Perhaps a restraining order against his father, or entering the witness protection program, would help. He also needs to bring it if he's gonna beat Cook.

Simon must really like the song "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"..its also on his discovery, Leona Lewis' album. Its all about the Itunes downloads this year. All about the cash. So, please Prof B, don't download Leona's version when you get DC's, Simon and his kind are rich enough.
David Cook is really growing on Mr. IdolSmith..its hard to see it happening.
After David A. sang the Dan Fogelberg song, I woke up and felt sorry for him. TPTB are trying to make him a Branson star one day. Poor kid.
Syesha is a mystery. GIRRRRRRRL, she got our bonus points to leave tonight and to take her chayer with her.

Archie botched his words all over that second song. No one said a word. Blah.
Cook was out of tune and wobbly on 2 of his 3 songs. Blah.
Syesha was the most solid, in my opinion. And I'm actually shocked she even made it this far.
But alas - there is no way in heck she's gonna be in the top 2.

even with the lame boo, archie was making the 11 somethings swoon last night with that song. If there were to be a surprise, he would be out, but as long as there are lockers and teen beat magazines, he is definitely in.
i think he has a long career ahead of him. i'll buy the first album he puts out after he has his first real heart break. then he will get all these songs, and he will be a lethal weapon.
